Greetings

My name is Yurika Fujiwara, and I’m the pediatrician at this clinic.
The Fujiwara Kid’s Clinic was built as an addition to the Akikusa Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in 2004.
Over my 11 years working at a university hospital and related facilities, I learned about general pediatrics, pediatric emergency care, neurological disorders, and child development. I also met many patients, which allowed me to see the diversity of childhood developments and types of households.
Since opening the clinic, I’ve been completely focused on my work, thanks to the support of my patients. In the midst of this, the COVID-19 pandemic reared its ugly head, changing the medical care environment in a large way. With the rapid increase in digitization, optimization, and the amount of information available to them, our children’s environment changed day by day too, bringing more and more worries to families with children. It’s precisely because we live in such an age that I am dedicated to supporting my patients in every way I can through my medical practice.
It’s been almost 20 years since the clinic opened. The ability to watch and support so many children as they grow is one of the happy blessings of being a pediatrician. Along with this blessing, however, is a heavy responsibility to continue my work. Our children are the city’s future. My hope is to be able to give my all as a health partner protecting our children’s smiles and building a brighter future. I and the clinic’s staff hope to continue working with you all for many years to come.

Our Clinic

Enter through the automatic door on the first floor and take your shoes off in the entryway.
After checking in at the first-floor reception counter, receive the folder with your patient registration card and go up to the second floor.
Once you are on the second floor, place your folder in the folder holder and wait in the waiting room.

I think you’ll find you can relax just like you do at home.

Parking Lot

There are 15 spaces available. (When this is full, we’ve received permission from Waku Waku Hiroba, so you may also use their parking lot.)

Bicycle Parking

We have prepared an area to park your bike, so feel free to use it.

Entrance

The door is automatic.
In order to prevent children from running outside, the door opens by button from the inside.
We also have a bench to prevent accidents. (Please feel free to sit down on the bench.)
There is a step in the entryway . It’s a perfect height for children to sit on when putting on their shoes.
Children seem to enjoy taking their temperature with automatic thermometers, so we’ve placed one in the entryway.

Floor

Please remove your shoes at the entrance so that small children can crawl around and lay down with safety and peace of mind.
The floor materials on the first floor are well-cushioned to absorb the impact of a fall.
The second floor is fully equipped with heated flooring. We turn it on from fall to spring to keep your feet warm and comfortable.

Stairs

We have installed slip-preventing material in order to ensure guests can ascend and descend safely. The stairs are somewhat steep, so you’ll be able to enjoy the sight of children doing their best to go up and down them.

Bulletin Board

We’ve set one up along the stairs, so please speak to us if you have something you’d like to post.

Books

Books selected by Dr. Fujiwara are available, so please feel free to read them. We hope children enjoy them while in the waiting room. We disinfect books after they’ve been read, so please give them to the staff when finished.

Heated Floors

The second floor is fully equipped with heating flooring that we use from fall to spring.

Waiting Room

The waiting room on the second floor has a large window facing south, so the room is very bright. There is also a TV which plays anime and more.

Examination Room

The room is decorated with things like the character Anpanman in order to make children feel more comfortable.

Isolation Room

We have patients who are suspected to have chickenpox or other infectious diseases wait here.

Treatment Room

We do procedures necessary for treatment such as blood drawing here.

Bathroom

There is a table for changing diapers.

Toys

We have several toys available. Staff members also sometimes bring toys.

About Our Clinic's Medical Treatment System

*We use a reservation system.
We call patients for examinations by number in the order of reception . For vaccinations and infant checkups, we take reservations for designated times.

*We take reservations for general examinations starting at 6:00 am.
(Web reservations, reservation-only phone line)

*We can use a feature of the LINE application to notify you when your turn is coming soon.
(In addition to adding our clinic’s LINE account as a contact, you also need to register for the reservation notification feature)

*We examine patients who come without an appointment as time allows, but if the clinic is busy, we may turn such patients away. Also, please understand that we may alter the order in which patients are seen depending on their condition.

*We take reservations for vaccinations and infant checkups starting 90 days in advance. (Web reservations only)

*For patients with fevers (guide to the examination process)
1. Please inform the staff upon coming up to the second floor if you have had a fever of 37.5℃ or more within 24 hours. We will show you to the waiting room. Please let us know if you would prefer to wait in your own car. We will ask you for your cell phone number.
2. When your turn comes, you will be examined in the general examination room. (You may be examined in a different room in some cases)
3. We will explain this to you when you come to the clinic. Also, please wear a mask as much as possible.

*Patients without cold symptoms (such as patients with only dermatological conditions)
1. Please speak to the staff upon coming up to the second floor. If there are many patients with cold symptoms, we will take you to a different room.
2. Please let us know if you would prefer to wait in your own car.

*After your examination, if you have been instructed to come back for another examination, please make the appointment before you leave.

About the Primary Care Provider System

This clinic adopted the “Primary Pediatric Care Provider System” in September 2021.

What is the Primary Pediatric Care Provider System?

The Primary Pediatric Care Provider System, which encourages having a primary care provider for children, was established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2016. This is a system for children under six years old that is based on national policy and supports consulting with a familiar primary care provider for not just illnesses but also regarding the child’s growth, development, vaccines, health issues related to childcare, and emergencies outside of regular checkups in order to move on to the next s tep. It also reduces medical costs by preventing examinations at multiple medical institutions.

Support for Children Registered in the Primary Pediatric Care Provider System

・Examinations for sudden illnesses, guidance for and management of chronic conditions.
・Advice and guidance appropriate for the child’s developmental level, response to health consultations.
・Confirmation of vaccination status, guidance regarding vaccination timing, information regarding the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
・Response to communications outside of office hours for patients registered in the Primary Pediatric Care Provider System.
Expanded response hours: Weekdays from the end of office hours until 9:00 pm, holidays from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

What Children can Register for the Primary Pediatric Care Provider System?

・Children under six years old who have been examined at the Fujiwara Kid's Clinic four times or more before they turn six years old

Notes for those registering in the Primary Pediatric Care Provider System

①You will only be registered for this facility, and you may not register with any other facilities.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to cancel your registration with us.
②There are no restrictions on being examined at other medical institutions. Please let us know what the examination was for at your next examination here.
③When examination by a highly-specialized medical institution is necessary, we will responsibly give you a referral.
④As a general rule, we respond to calls outside of office hours (phone number exclusively for registered patients), but when we are unable to do so, please contact an affiliated medical institution for consultations or examinations.
⑤There is no increased financial burden on patients due to using this system.
